Julia’s interest in training to become a counsellor first started when she was a nurse. Julia became increasingly aware of the importance of well-being to encompass not only the physical aspects of health but also the emotional and psychological aspects. She noticed that for many people there seemed to be a need for a safe place to talk and to explore the feelings they had bottled up inside.
Having decided to retrain, Julia followed an accredited course at the University of Chester, obtaining a Masters in Clinical Counselling and subsequently a Masters in Psychology. Julia is a Registered Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and works in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice. Julia is also a Graduate Member of the British Psychological Society (MBPsS).
Julia has worked with clients with a range of issues including anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, grief, and abuse, trauma and problematic and hazardous alcohol and drug use.
